The department of political science was establishment : u.g level :1962, p.g.level: 1973 c.o.c on event management-2008-2013. there are four teachers with Ph.D. the department and one doing Ph.D. there are four recognized research guides in the department. One research project have been successfully completed by the faculty member prof. Dr. Suvarna Benke. Prof. Dr. Suvarna Benke has published six books which are included as reference books for the political science subject of sppu and other universities. The department has an enriched department library along with a great number of books at the central library.

Department faculties are engaged in contribution to the syllabus framing of various universities.
