Department of Sanskrit is the pioneering department of the college, established in 1961, sacred with many eminent faculties. With various famed achievements in teaching, research, publication, extension & quality improvement department has accomplished a distinguished position in the university.

The department offers edification for undergraduate courses under Arts, Commerce and Science faculties along with M. Phil and Ph. D. This is the only department with Research center in Sanskrit under Pune University except Dept. of Sanskrit in Pune University.

Till date, there are 12 students to whom M. Phil./Ph.D degrees have been awarded, whereas 13 students are pursuing for M.Phil/PhD.
