The department was established with the motto to provide the professional skill based education in the growing field of Hospitality & Tourism to the students. Having been introduced in the year 2013, the B.Voc (Hospitality & Tourism) course, being approved under National Skill Qualification Framework, Ministry of HRD, Government of Indian and Savitiribai Phule Pune University, Pune, has been one of the earliest courses of its kind. The department has been running the UG programme B. Voc (Hospitality & Tourism) since 2013 and recently it has got approval to start M. Voc (Hospitality & Tourism) programme.

The department continuously focuses on providing application-oriented skills to students and hence have number of collaborations with world class travel agencies and five star hotel chains.
